Kim Deal will be dusting off her bass for a benefit gig in aid of runaway teenagers...

THE BREEDERS will perform live on February 25 in LOS ANGELES in a benefit for a runaway teenagers’ charity.

They will join a host of other acts at the Hot Pants club to raise money for the Children Of The Night charity, in only their second live appearance in five years, following an appearance at the same venue on December 12, 2000.

Children Of The Night was established in 1979 to save 11- to 17-year-olds from street prostitution and provides young runaways with shelter, food, clothes, advice and help finding jobs. The Breeders contacted the venue when they heard the event was taking place, offering not just their services, but a host of signed memorabilia.

They are expected to mix Breeders standards with new material.

Also on the bill will be Dave Lovering, the drummer in the Pixies, the band in which Breeders co-founder and songwriter Kim Deal rose to fame. He will appear as David Lovering’s Science Experiment.
