BLUR, The Charlatans and Red Hot Chili Peppers headline this year’s Mean Fiddler festivals at Reading (August 27-29) and Leeds Temple Newsam Park (August 28-30).
The Charlatans will headline the Reading Festival on Friday (27) supported by Reef and Fun Lovin’ Criminals. This line-up will then perform at Leeds ’99 festival the next day, Saturday (28).
Blur will headline Reading on Saturday (28) with support from The Divine Comedy, Pavement and a “very special guest” – tipped to be Pearl Jam – the line-up then travels to Leeds to play on Sunday (29).
Red Hot Chili Peppers headline the last day, Sunday (29), at Reading following performances from The Offspring and Terrorvision, before decamping to Leeds to play on Monday (30). Further acts will be announced over the coming weeks.
The Mean Fiddler’s Vince Power said: “This is wonderful news for music lovers. The Reading Festival has proved itself to be a festival leader in its musical genres and to be able to replicate it for music fans in the North is fantastic.”
