The Chemical Brothers are expected to release their eighth album this year, the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Further’. In November 2014, member Ed Simons said of the upcoming LP: “What we have so far for the album sounds incredible, far-out electronic music. We’re going to start mixing it really soon.”
Simons also announced that he’ll no longer be touring as part of the electronic outfit. He cited his “academic work” as the reason, stating that bandmate Tom Rowlands will continue to tour with the group’s long-term visual collaborator Adam Smith.
“I know Tom and Adam are working on a brand new look for the show,” he said. “It will be the same big production, with Adam’s amazing visuals and the studio set up onstage, but I won’t be part of it.”
The Chemical Brothers will play this year’s Longitude Festival in Dublin’s Marlay Park during May, Glastonbury in June and Bestival in September.
