Frontman speaks ahead of release of new album 'Concrete Love' on August 18
The Courteeners’ frontman Liam Fray has said that his counterpart in The Killers is the “second best-looking man in rock” after Fray himself.
Speaking to NME in an issue that is available on newsstands and available digitally now, about supporting The Killers in North America, Fray said he was a fan of the band for a number of reasons. “Brandon Flowers is the second best-looking man in rock at the minute, after me. It amazes me that people don’t like them, because they’re popular and they’re good.”
He also spoke about comments he made onstage in Manchester last year, when he said the band were going to go away for a while. “That was misconstrued,” he said. “We said we weren’t going to play Manchester for at least a year because we wanted to go on a bit of a break. But the good songs just kept coming and people still seemed quite hungry for us, so we carried on.”
The Courteeners have released a new EP titled ‘How Good It Was’ ahead of their new album, ‘Concrete Love’, which is out on August 18. Fray revealed that it was a “really difficult” decision to leave the other tracks off the forthcoming album which is why they have ended up on the EP.
