The Cribs at Reading Festival: ‘Bands who wouldn’t cross-dress suck’ – video

Band say dressing up as women for single cover was no biggie

The CribsGary and Ryan Jarman have talked about why they dressed up as women for the front cover of their recent single, in a new NME video interview you can watch on the right.

The band released ‘Housewife’ earlier this month, with the two brothers saying that it was no big deal for them to slip into some dresses for the cover art.

“I know a lot of bands who wouldn’t dream of dressing in girls’ clothes,” Ryan said. “And to those guys I would say, ‘You suck’.”

Gary added: “It’s quite a literal interpretation of the title. There’s really no reason not to. We don’t have hang-ups about that kind of thing. And it’s funny that it is still a big deal to some people. Who cares? It’s fun. We had a good time.”
