The Cribs go up against Shakira at Glastonbury

Jarmans and Marr play Other Stage show on Worthy Farm

The Cribs went head to head with Shakira at Glastonbury this evening (June 26), playing on the Other Stage while the singer appeared on Pyramid Stage.

The band, comprising the three Jarman brothers and Johnny Marr on guitar, played a set including ‘Cheat On Me’ and ‘Men’s Needs’. Frontman Ryan Jarman acknowledged the competition from the Colombian pop star, jokingly asking if the audience knew she was on the bill.

“The sun is exactly in my eyes – I’m not trying to be The Fonz or anything,” he said, referring to his sunglasses. He added: “You do know that Shakira‘s playing on the other stage, right?”

The band still garnered a large crowd despite the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer’s set, ending their show with ‘City Of Bugs’, taken from their most recent album ‘Ignore The Ignorant’.

The Cribs played:

‘We Were Aborted’
‘Hey Scenesters!’
‘We Share The Same Skies’
‘Hari Kari’
‘Cheat On Me’
‘Another Number’
‘Mirror Kissers’
‘Be Safe’
‘Ignore The Ignorant’
‘I’m A Realist’
‘Men’s Needs’
‘City Of Bugs’
