Sonic Youth Man joins The Cribs in New York

Lee Ranaldo performs live with the trio

Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo joined The Cribs live onstage for the first time ever last night (March 20) in Brooklyn, to perform spoken word track ‘Be Safe’ from their ‘Men’s Needs’ album.

The band tried to make the live collaboration happen last summer when they performed at Mercury Lounge, but Ranaldo had to pull out last-minute due to illness.

As previously reported, the band had recently been performing the song with Ranaldo’s part played on a screen.
