The Cribs add extra date to sold-out UK tour due to public demand

Sibling trio will play Manchester Ritz on February 25

The Cribs have added a new date to their sold-out UK tour due to high public demand.

Tickets for the show at Manchester’s Ritz venue on February 25 will go on sale this Friday (January 9) at 9am. The show will be part of a UK tour that will see the band play a number of intimate dates which will also include their sold out NME Awards 2015 with Austin Texas gig at Electric Ballroom on February 12.

The Cribs are set to release a sixth album – their follow up to 2012’s ‘In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull’ – this year. The trio were also announced yesterday as part of the line-up for this year’s Coachella festival in the US alongside headliners AC/DC, Jack White and Drake.

As previously reported, Ric Ocasek of The Cars has been named as the producer for the Wakefield band’s forthcoming LP. Ocasek has previously produced records for the likes of Weezer and Hole. Speaking to NME, Ryan Jarman said Ocasek “doesn’t do records like a gun for hire; he chooses a band. We’ve been trying to get him since the third record, now he thinks we’re definitely good enough.”

Speaking further about the band’s next LP, Gary Jarman added: “We’ve got enough songs for it, we’re just finalising things: we’ll record in October. It’s influenced by all the stuff we’ve been listening to – The Replacements and ’80s pop basically.”

The Cribs will play:

Nottingham Rescue Rooms (February 11)
London Electric Ballroom (12)
Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms (14)
Bristol The Fleece (15)
Birmingham The Oobleck (17)
Glasgow King Tuts (20)
Sheffield Leadmill (22)
Manchester Ritz (25)
