The band are currently working with producer Ric Ocasek on a new record

Clarifying the picture on Twitter, however, the band confirmed that they were not actually working with the Foo Fighters frontman on the record, tweeting: “By the way – Dave G just called into the studio to say hi, we aren’t working together! Just a hang with an awesome dude.”
As previously reported, Ocasek has been named as the producer for the Wakefield band’s forthcoming sixth studio LP. Ocasek has previously produced records for the likes of Weezer and Hole.
Speaking of the choice, guitarist Ryan Jarman said, “He doesn’t do records like a gun for hire; he chooses a band. We’ve been trying to get him since the third record, now he thinks we’re definitely good enough.”
Meanwhile, The Cribs are also looking to release a second new LP, produced by former Nirvana producer Steve Albini. Some of the tracks were left over from the sessions for fifth LP ‘In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull’, which was also recorded with the producer, while the band will return to work with Albini to finish the record at a later date.
