The Cribs joined by Sonic Youth’s Lee Ronaldo for rare performance of ‘Be Safe’ – watch

The Sonic Youth co-founder joined the band onstage in Montreal

The Cribs played at Montreal’s Theatre Fairmount with a rare guest appearance from Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo.

The Sonic Youth co-founder performs on the studio recording of ‘Be Safe’, which features on the Wakefield band’s third album, ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever’.

The Cribs usually project a video of Ranaldo delivering his monologue when they play ‘Be Safe’ live, but on this rare occasion Ranaldo joined them live.

Earlier this month the trio revealed a new song, ‘Wish I Knew You In The ’90s’, which is a B-side to their new single ‘All My Sisters’ and is available as part of a limited 7-inch from October 30.

The band is currently on tour in America to promote their sixth LP, ‘For All My Sisters’, which was released in March.

Next month they’ll head back home for a UK-wide tour. The full dates are:
