The Cure, Paramore, The Maccabees to play Reading Festival today (August 24)

Bombay Bicycle Club, You Me At Six, Crystal Castles will also take the stage at Richfield Avenue today

The Cure will make their first appearance at Reading Festival in 33 years tonight (August 24) as the first day of music gets underway at Richfield Avenue.

Robert Smith and his band will top the bill at the event tonight, playing a two-and-a-half hour set which will draw material from across their career.

Paramore play beneath The Cure, playing their first UK festival since founding members Zac and Josh Farro departed the band. They play high up a Main Stage bill that also includes Bombay Bicycle Club, You Me At Six, Crystal Castles and Deaf Havana.


The Maccabees will headline the NME/Radio 1 Stage tonight, playing above the likes of The Courteeners, Foster The People and Blur‘s Graham Coxon.

Other acts on the bill today include Coheed And Cambria, Passion Pit, The Hives, Sleigh Bells, The Blackout, Every Time I Die, The Subways and Spector.
