Along with the regular set of DJs and music, NME Radio has a whole load of stuff going on this week.
Monday
Neil Cole has a pair of tickets to the NME Big Gig with The Cure, Franz Ferdinand, White Lies and Crystal Castles this Thursday (26th) to give away from 10am (GMT), and Lord Auch drop by for a chat at midday.
Jaimie Hodgson is in with three new Radar bands from 4pm and Iain Baker is talking to NME Editor Conor McNicholas from the O2 Brixton Academy as preparations for the Shockwaves NME Awards 2009 begin in earnest. He’s also got tickets to give away all week to the new JD Set Tour, with Little Boots, Everything Everything, Howling Bells and Esser.
Tuesday
Mark Watson, presenter of this year’s Shockwaves NME Awards, joins Neil Cole live in the studio from 10am. Neil also has the final pair of tickets to the awards, as well as tickets to see The Cure at the Big Gig up for grabs. At 5pm Little Boots kicks off the JD Set Tour, playing her top five favourite tracks right now.
Wednesday
The NME Forum has JD Set Tour curator Don Letts and NME‘s Steve Sutherland in discussing the latest releases at 4pm, before full coverage of this year’s Shockwaves NME Awards 2009 begins. Neil Cole is backstage live from the O2 Brixton Academy from 6pm speaking to all the guests and winners, and bringing you the juiciest backstage gossip.
Thursday
Solid Gold join Neil Cole from midday following the first night of their six-date London residency and Little Boots plays a JD Set Tour session from 5pm.
Friday
Stuart Galbraith, CEO for national promoters Kilimanjaro, talks to Iain Baker at 3.30pm about his brand new festival Sonisphere, which features headline performances from Metallica and Linkin Park in August.
