Iron Maiden make return to album charts...

There is no change at the top of the UK single and album charts today (September 14) as Black Eyed Peas and The Darkness remain top of both.

The highest new entry on the single chart comes from Pop Idol Gareth Gates, who breaks in at three with ’Sunshine’, three ahead of dirty duo Christina Aguilera and Lil’ Kim who bounce in at six with ’Can’t Hold Us Down’.

Operatic power trio Muse return to the top 10 at eight with ’Time Is Running Out’, two ahead of P Diddy and Nelly at 10 with ’Shake Ya Tailfeather’.

Steps refugee Lisa Scott-Lee maintains her assault on the nation’s senses going in at 11 with ’Too Far Gone’, one ahead of ’Dance With You (Nachna Tere Neal)’ by Rishi Rich and three ahead of Linkin Park at 14 with ’Numb’. Kontakt, at 19, with ’Show Me A Sign’ is the only other entry on the top 20 going in at 19.

The Bandits, Mya and Cosmic Rough Riders are amongst the other entries on the top 40.

On the album chart, is a joke rock one/two. Veterans Iron Maiden score the highest new entry at two with ’Dance Of Death’. Cooper Temple Clause arrive in the top ten with another snappily titled album. ’Kick Up The Fire And Let The Flames’ debuts at five while Mercury nominated The Thrills are the biggest winners from the awards climbing back into the top 10 from 15 to six.
