The album chart-toppers say there's "no shame" in preparing a ditty aimed at the festive market...
The Darkness have set their sights on the Christmas charts after hitting the Number One spot with their album ‘PERMISSION TO LAND’ yesterday (August 31).
Following their main stage sets at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals, the band are now looking to release a Christmas single.
Singer Justin Hawkins said, “The Christmas single looks to have a chorus that reads – ‘Christmas time, don’t let the bells end, just let them ring in piece’.
“That’s moving for me. There’s no shame in doing a Christmas single,” he told Radio 1. “It is a special period of time. I think it gets a bit desperate when you do Mothers’ Day songs, or Fathers’ Day songs, but Christmas is different.”
He added: “Who doesn’t like having an excuse to receive presents?”
