The Darkness announce three Download warm-up shows – ticket details

Band to warm up in Norwich, Leamington and London

The Darkness have announced three warm-up shows for their appearance at Download Festival this summer – which will be their first gigs since summer 2006.

The Lowestoft hair metallers announced that they were reuniting earlier this year. They will play the Norwich Waterfront on June 5, the Leamington Spa Assembly on June 6 and London‘s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on June 8.

Tickets for the Leamington and London gigs will only be available to those who already have a Download Festival ticket. Norwich tickets will go on sale to the public, although the on-sale date has not been announced yet.

The band play second headline to Def Leppard on June 10: the first day of Download Festival. The festival’s organiser Andy Copping has said the band’s set will be “a concise hour, with all the hits.”

The Darkness have reunited with their full original line-up, with brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins, bassist Frankie Poullain and drummer Ed Graham in the set-up.
