JUSTIN HAWKINS has said The Darkness have completed their second album.
Speaking at yesterday’s (May 27) Ivor Novello awards, the singer said that the album is “ready to go”.
He told XFM: “The difficult second album? We’re sailing through it, It’s done, its ready to go. The whole thing’s done. All the packaging and stuff – the artwork and what have you – is all we’ve got to look at now.”
AC/DC producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange (the husband of Shania Twain) has reportedly working with the Lowestoft four-piece in the studio. The veteran has also worked with The Darkness, Def Leppard and Foreigner.
The band are now starting to think of a title. Guitarist Dan Hawkins said: “It’s gonna take a while. The last title took about seven months to chose, I think. So seven months of sheer hell. It looks promising though.”
Frankie Poullain added: “There’s an old title that keeps on asserting itself, and that’s, three words, ‘Short Fat Cock’. As we don’t know the length of the album yet we may have to just sit on that one. Not sit on it literally, of course… that could be quite painful.”
