The likes The Darkness, Pet Shop Boys and Travis head a stellar line-up for the free gigs...

The Darkness, THE CURE, TRAVIS, SUPER FURRY ANIMALS, ELBOW and SUPERGRASS are amongst the artists who will be playing low-key shows around the country for the price of a text message.

Also joining the bill for the second annual ‘Passport: Back To The Bars’ series of gigs will be Ash, Starsailor, [/a], Spiritualized, Atomic Kitten, Craig David, Big Brovaz, [a], Badly Drawn Boy, Amy Winehouse, Gary Numan, [/a], [a] and Lemar.

The shows, which will raise money for the charities War Child and Shelter, will hit London, York, Liverpool, Cardiff, Glasgow and Birmingham between March 1 – 10 and ‘passports’ for the gigs will be only allocated through a competition via text message.


Organisers will then select winners on a random basis. However, an online auction will be held for four pairs of tickets to each show, where they will be sold to the highest bidder.
