Matt Datsun injures himself onstage in London, putting the rest of the tour in jeopardy...
THE DATSUNS UK tour was thrown into jeopardy last night (September 16) following the hospitalisation of drummer MATT DATSUN.
The New Zealand group were performing a show at the London Camden Dingwalls venue last night as part of an ongoing UK tour.
During the band’s last song, Matt climbed onto his drumkit but slipped, twisting his ankle and falling on it badly. He then staggered off the stage and was immediately taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the band told NME.COM: “It’s really swollen but I don’t think the band are going to have to pull any dates. Matt is on crutches at the moment and he keeps putting ice on it. I think it’s more sprained than swollen.”
The Datsuns’ next show is at the Brighton Freebutt tomorrow (September 18) and continues across the UK, ending at the Leeds Rocket (25).
