The Decemberists release live DVD

The Decemberists have announced they will release a DVD featuring a 2005 hometown performance and behind the scenes footage.

’Decemberists: A Practical Handbook DVD’ features the band in convert at the Roseland Theatre in Portland, Oregon in November 2005, as well as a documentary shot during the recording of 2006’s ’The Crane Wife’ featuring interviews and candid footage.

The DVD also features a series of short films shot during the photo session for the album cover for their 2005 album ’Picaresque and Her Majesty’, as well as illustrations by Carson Ellis, the band’s friend and collaborator.

’Decemberists: A Practical Handbook DVD’ is released on March 20.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the band will kick off their US tour in Jersey City on March 21.
