The-Dream announces new album ‘Morphine’

The singer is also due to release two new EPs

His forthcoming EPs ‘Crown’ and ‘Jewel’ may not be out yet, but The-Dream is already at work on new album ‘Morphine’, which he announced earlier this week via Instagram.

The singer/producer posted a clip of him working on a new song titled ‘Fabulous’, adding the caption: “And after you turn in #CrownJewel to the fine people at ITunes and all retailers and Mom and Pops ,you realize you are 7 songs deep of new album #Morphine >”song you are hearing is “Fabulous” because the show must go on! I don’t know what them other artist are doing but it’s going to be a long 36 months!”

The-Dream recently unveiled the cover art and tracklisting for ‘Crown’, which is due out on Tuesday (April 14). The release includes latest single ‘That’s My Shit’.

Speaking in January, The-Dream explained how ‘Crown’ and ‘Jewel’ will show a different side to him as an artist: “‘Crown’ is more modern R&B, and ‘Jewel’ will be more what you might think of as my songwriter side, the songs I might have given to other artists before,” he said. “If you put me in a box, Jewel is more what you get when that box is open. But I’m not limited by any box I’ve been put in – every year I’m expanding and growing, and it makes for a more interesting plot.”

The ‘Crown’ tracklisting is:

‘That’s My Shit’ (featuring TI)
‘All I Need’
‘Throw It Back’
”Cedes Benz’
’90s Love’
