The Early Years, the influential London-based krautock-inspired four-piece, have announced a new live show – their second since reforming late last year.
The band play at Manchester’s KRAAK venue on January 31 – tickets are on sale now. The Early Years released their self-titled debut album in 2006, and followed it with a handful of EPs and singles and a number of incendiary live performances, before various other distractions put the group on hold.
However, in that short time, they were lauded by Brian Eno – who compared drummer Phil Raines to the late, great Klaus Dinger of krautrock pioneers Neu! – and The Horrors, whose frontman Faris Badwan described them as “a band worth listening to” in the pages of NME, just after his band’s second album ‘Primary Colours’ – a record which shared The Early Years’ inspirations of krautrock and Spacemen 3 – had come out.
After a three-year break, the band got back together last November for a sold-out London show and released a brand new single, ‘Complicity’, to coincide – scroll down and click below to see the video.
