THE LIPS AND THE REV SHARE ‘..THE PRIZE’

The bands get together to record a new version of the Lips 1999 single 'Race For The Prize'...

Flaming Lips have recorded a new version of their former single ‘RACE FOR THE PRIZE’ with members of Mercury Rev.

The two bands got together recently in Tarbox Road Studios, Dave Fridmann‘s studio in upstate New York, to work through the track. It had been suggested that it was put together for future broadcast on UK radio, though a Flaming Lips spokesperson said the exact intention was unclear.

He added: “They went into the studio within the last three or four weeks really just to see what it turned out like. At present I’m not aware of any plans to release it.”
