The American group want different celebrities to provide guest vocals...

THE FLAMING LIPS are planning to release a Christmas record, with different “celebrities” providing guest vocals on individual tracks.

In a statement posted on the band’s official website, [url=]www.flaminglips.com, the band reveal that vocalist Wayne Coyne intends to write an instrumental album with the rest of the band, and let other “celebrities” guest on the record, providing stories or vocals.

At present, nobody has been officially confirmed to sing on the record, the band adding: “There have been all sorts of suggested names flying around from the outside world, but they’re generally way off the mark… it’s all still in the sorting out stage right now, so you’ll just have to wait and see! Rest assured, it’s going to be very interesting…”
