White Stripes have announced the support acts for their sell-out UK tour next month.
Detroit four-piece The Go will be performing at the dates prior to their first full British album being released this May.
White Stripes frontman Jack White is a former member of the band, and played on their 1999 debut album, ‘Watcha Doin’.
The other band on the bill are Whirlwind Heat, whose first LP has been produced by Jack White and will be released on the star’s Third Man label later this year.
The tour will be White Stripes’ first appearance in the UK since the Carling Weekend last August. The band postponed promotional work in the lead-up to the release of their new album ‘Elephant’ when Meg broke her wrist in New York two weeks ago.
They insist that the arm will heal in time for the first show in Wolverhampton on April 7. The other shows are in Manchester (8), Glasgow (10) and London (11/12).
