And we can report the jaunt has been a little booze soaked, to say the least...

Jet joined The Hiss onstage at the BIRMINGHAM ACADEMY last night (November 2) for a surprise rendition of OASIS‘ ‘COLUMBIA’, during the NME ROCK ‘N’ ROLL RIOT TOUR.

As the Atlanta-based Jet were finishing their song ‘Riverbed’, Jet singer Nic Cester emerged from the sidelines to treat fans to a unique version of the ‘Definitely Maybe’ classic.

An onlooker at the gig said: “They flipped into the song during the outro of ‘Riverbed’, so Adrian (Barrera) sang ‘This is confusion, am I confusing you?’ and left Nic to scream the ‘Yeah yeah yeahs’, complete with intermittent tambourine shakes.”

The two bands also collaborated on the track the previous night (November 1) at Manchester University.

Jet and Jet have become great friends since the their gig together at London’s Pentonville Prison earlier this year, and it seems that the NME tour has turned into a true ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Riot’.

A tour insider told NME.COM: “To say the tour has been a little booze soaked is quite possibly an understatement. Every night so far the promoter has had a knock on his door to ask for additional liquid refreshments. Currently they’re on a three-litre a night vodka diet plus a couple of crates of beer on top.”

Jet‘s ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’ has also become a firm favourite of shock-rocker Marilyn Manson. The singer is reported to be currently running through a rendition of the track during the soundchecks of his US tour.

The NME Rock ‘N’ Roll Riot Tour featuring Jet and Jet will call at the Norwich Waterfront tonight (November 3) before heading to the Brighton Concorde 2 (5), London Astoria (6) and Bristol Anson Rooms (7).
