The Killers cover ‘Finding Out True Love Is Blind’ in San Diego – watch

Flowers and co were joined on stage by Louis XIV guitarist Brian Karscig to cover his song

The Killers used last night (September 19)’s date in San Diego as a chance to cover and reconnect with reformed California rock band Louis XIV, who hail from the city.

Louis XIV reformed in 2012 after agreeing a support slot with The Killers, but are best known for their 2005 album ‘The Best Little Secrets Are Kept’. The track The Killers covered last night – ‘Finding Out True Love Is Blind’ – is Louis XIV’s highest charting single in the UK, having scored a number 26.

Brian Karscig is guitarist and backing vocalist for Louis XIV, and also appeared on stage with the band for the cover version. Karscig was at the very heart of the original break up, having said he needed an “indefinite break” from the band, as the music had started to suffer. He formed a band called The Nervous Wreckords before coming back to Louis XIV for the 2012 reunion.

Brandon Flowers has been talking of his dissatisfaction with The Killers more recent work over the last few months, telling NME:

“Our last album wasn’t good enough and we all know it”.

“Once [the band] all get on the same page, it’ll work,” Flowers said, before joking, “I need to persuade them to like the same things as I do.”

The frontman recently released his second solo record, ‘The Desired Effect’.
