The Killers and Kings of Leon will headline the festival, which takes place in Delaware, USA. Other acts announced include Run The Jewels, Charli XCX, Snoop Dogg, Hozier and Bastille, with the final headliner yet to be revealed.
The festival will mark the Killer’s first headline spot since playing Tennent’s Vital in Belfast in 2014. The band have been on a hiatus since.
In December, Brandon Flowers admitted feeling frustration that the Killers are not more successful, saying that his band lack the “drive” to reach their full potential. “It takes a lot of work and that’s fine, everybody’s different, everybody’s gonna have their own road that they go down,” he told NME. “Other than Coldplay I’m not sure anybody’s made the dent that U2 were able to make. They were so much a part of the landscape and the timing of when they were coming out.”
Firefly Festival takes place July 18 – 21 at the Woodlands in Dover, Delaware. It was launched in 2012 by Chicago’s Red Frog events and has a capacity of 80,000. Details of tickets will be announced soon.
