The Killers: Live8 performance will be hard to beat

Only a gig on Mars can better it says Brandon Flowers

The Killers have declared their Live8 appearance as their highlight of 2005.

The band, who are about to start work on their second album, had a very successful summer of festivals but admitted topping the one song – ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’ – they performed at Hyde Park in July will be tough.

“That was a high point for us,” Brandon Flowers told Spin. “We’re kind of scared because we’ve had so many on this album, what are we going to do for the second record? We have to play on Mars or something to beat Live8.”

The singer added that meeting some of his favourite stars made the day extra special.

“We got to meet Dave Gilmour and Paul McCartney,” recalled Flowers. “Talked to Sting and it was all for a good cause.”

However the star admitted there was one downside on the day – a lot of other bands had the same idea to wear all-white outfits for the show.

“We thought we had this great idea and then like, three other people did it too,” said Flowers of his dress sense. “Madonna did it!”
