The Killers perform one-off ‘Wembley Song’ at Wembley Stadium – watch

Band reveal footage of the song they wrote to commemorate performance at 75,000-capacity venue

The Killers have unveiled a video of their performance of the specially written ‘Wembley Song’ live at Wembley Stadium earlier this year. See above to watch the video now.

The Las Vegas band debuted the song at the London venue in June. Its lyrics trace The Killers’ career “from Dave’s apartment to Wembley,” comically noting that early singles left us confused to find that the band were from Vegas “when you were sure it must be Sheffield or Camden”. The song also listed bands that had played at Wembley previously, including Foo Fighters, The Who and Green Day, with Brandon admitting, “I said some shit, but that was the old me”.

Speaking about ‘Wembley Song’, the band issued a statement which reads: “We’d like to take a moment to sincerely thank those of you that made it out to the Wembley Stadium show last month. What a real pleasure it was to play for you all. We filmed some of the show and caught the Wembley song on tape. We took out all the bad shots of Ron to make us look cooler, too. Enjoy.”
