The opportunistic fan - identified only as 'Tony' - got his chance after holding up a sign which read "Can I drum?"
The Killers invited a fan up on stage to drum for them for one song during their headline slot at TRNSMT Festival last night (July 8) – watch footage of the moment below.
The Brandon Flowers-fronted band closed the Glasgow-based festival yesterday, with one memorable moment occurring mid-way through the set.
Spotting a sign in the crowd which read “Can I drum?”, Flowers pointed at the Scottish fan – who has only been identified as ‘Tony’ – and asked if he wanted to come up on stage for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play with The Killers.
Tony then made his way to the stage to take over from regular drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr., before he then proceeded to deliver a seamless rendition of the drum parts for ‘For Reasons Unknown’.
BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James posted a short clip of the performance on his Twitter earlier today (July 9), which you can see below – or you can watch the full performance here, with the guest drummer moment starting at the 22:25 mark.
Following their headline set at TRNSMT, The Killers headed over to Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut venue to perform a secret show.
The show was quietly announced on Friday morning (July 6), with tickets on sale only to fan club members and TRNSMT Festival ticket holders – those sold out within five minutes.
