The Knife’s Karin Dreijer Andersson to release solo album

'Fever Ray' is out next March

Karin Dreijer Andersson, frontwoman with Swedish brother-sister duo The Knife, is to release her first solo album next March.

Dreijer Andersson unveils ‘Fever Ray’ on March 23, previewing it with a digital single, ‘If I Had A Heart’, on December 15.

The singer says that the album came into fruition because she simply wrote too many songs.

“I had so many songs to record that I just had to make an album,” she revealed. “My aim was to finish the album and now that it’s done I’m a bit restless. During the last few years I discovered that I like to sing too, so I hope that my newly-found live band will make it to the stages next year. We are rehearsing and building something beautiful and brilliant.”

In a recent blog on the band’s site, the duo revealed that they are taking time out to write and compose an opera inspired by Charles Darwin.
