The Lemonheads are set to release a new album in April 2008.
Frontman Evan Dando said the band were recording early next year.
He told Billboard: “Yeah, there is new music, and I’ll be recording in January. But I don’t want to talk about the record too much.”
The band, whose eponymous 2006 LP was their first release in ten years, are set to being a US tour on November 30 in San Francisco.
Dando said he was excited about the tour because it meant touring with the new members of the band – drummer Bill Stevenson and bassist Karl Alvarez.
He said: “After touring for 10 months, we’ve given the album a fair shake, but the exciting part of the next tour is that it’s with the people who actually played on the album. It’s the first tour with Bill and Karl, so to me it’s like a rebirth of the record.”
Dando is also working on a deluxe edition of the band’s classic 1992 album ‘It’s a Shame About Ray’ which will include demos, B-sides and a DVD from the era. It is due to be released in March.
