After a four-year absence, the strumming stoner is back...

LEMONHEADS’ EVAN DANDO will kick off his first live European shows in almost four years in Dublin during February, NME.COM can reveal.

Dando will be joined by longtime collaborator Ben Lee and Ben Kweller during the shows at Whelans on February 14 and 15 before further dates in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and London.

They are his first shows on this side of the Atlantic since the Reading Festival in 1997.

As previously revealed on NME.COM, Dando has been working with Lee, Giant Sand’s Howe Gelb and Calexico on his new material. He is also said to be working on a solo collection of Gram Parsons cover versions, though no release dates have been set. A live recording will be released in Australia, New Zealand and Japan through Modular Recordings during June 2001.

Dando will warm up for the UK and Ireland shows with four dates on the US east coast.
