EVAN DANDO was joined onstage by MARIANNE FAITHFULL last night (February 26) at LONDON ULU.

The former Lemonheads frontman and ’60s icon duetted on an acoustic version of The Rolling Stones’ ‘Backstreet Girl’.

The sold-out gig was the final night of Dando’s seven-date UK tour. He introduced her in the second half of the set, and they sat together to sing, sharing a lyric sheet, while he played acoustic guitar.

Other celebrities in attendance included actresses Sadie Frost and Alicia Silverstone.

Dando played four new songs, his first since 1996’s Lemonheads album ‘Car Button Cloth’. They were ‘All My Life’, ‘The Thing That You Thought Hard About Is The Same Thing I Can Live Without’, ‘Hard Drive’ and ‘Tongue Tied’. These were played alongside Lemonheads favourites including ‘Confetti’, ‘My Drug Buddy’, ‘Ride With Me’, ‘Into Your Arms’, ‘Big Gay Heart’, ‘Stove’, ‘Favourite T’ and ‘Being Around’.

Dando is currently looking for a new record deal and hopes to release a new album later this year.
