Pete and Carl return to Filthy McNasty's in north London for a surprise gig...

Libertines played a surprise gig yesterday (December 1) at a busking night in the north LONDON pub where frontmen PETE DOHERTY and CARL BARAT used to work behind the bar.

The band appeared at the launch of the Busking For Beer night at Filthy McNasty’s, and saw Pete and Carl play a 45-minute set including older Libertines songs, ‘France’, ‘Bucketshop’ and ‘Albion’.

The set closed in dramatic fashion with Pete walking around the bar witth Carl on his shoulders and playing the favourite ‘What A Waster’.

The band’s bassist John Hassall also played a solo acoustic set during the night, which was watched by Razorlight frontman and former Libertines Johnny Borrell.
