Little Flames set to split

Arctic Monkeys' best mates are about to call it a day

The Little Flames are on the verge of splitting, NME.COM has heard.

According to very strong rumours that have appeared across the web, including the Glasswerk music site, and sources that have spoken to NME.COM, the Liverpool band are on the verge of calling it a day.

It has been suggested that the band and singer Eva Petersen will go their separate ways, with the group changing their name to The Rascals.

It is also strongly rumoured that Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is involved in writing songs for the new band.

The Little Flames and Arctic Monkeys are good friends, and have toured together a lot. The Little Flames guitarist Miles Kane features on the Monkeys‘ new album ’Favourite Worst Nightmare’, playing on closer ’505’.

The band formed in 2004 and are due to release album ’The Day Is Not Today’ later this year.

The Little Flames’ 2005 single ’Put Your Dukes Up, John’ was also covered by the Arctic Monkeys, featuring as a B-side for 2006 single ’Leave Before The Light Come On’.

It is not yet clear exactly when the band will finish.
