Maccabees to play Malawi festival

Band to head to Lake Of Stars event

The Maccabees are set to play a festival in Malawi later this year.

The band play the vinspired Lake Of Stars event, which takes place on the edge of Lake Malawi on October 15-18.

The indie troupe will be joined by acts including Sway and Hot Chip‘s Joe Goddard, plus local musicians at the festival. Money raised from the event will help charities in the local area.

“It’s crazy, it’s only just dawned on us what an incredible thing this is to be doing,” guitarist Felix White told NME.COM. “We’re headlining the O2 Academy Brixton [in London on October 3] – it’s the biggest thing we’ve ever done, but this will be a huge celebration at the end of it.”
