Scottish festival confirms first names for June event
The Scottish festival, which takes place at Loch Ness between June 9-7, has also confirmed appearances from Bombay Bicycle Club, Mercury Music Prize nominee Jessie Ware, Ellie Goulding, Basement Jaxx, Madness, Ben Howard, Camera Obscura and Newton Faulkner across an array of stages. Example is the first act confirmed to headline one of the three days.
Speaking to The Daily Record, Example commented on his headline slot: “Obviously, you know how much I love Scottish crowds. When ‘Changed The Way You Kissed Me’ came out, I was on the Main Stage at RockNess before Magnetic Man and The Chemical Brothers. That was a big moment for me.”
Further acts, including the other headliners, will be announced in the coming weeks.
In 2012, RockNess was headlined by Biffy Clyro, Mumford & Sons and Deadmau5. Standard full price tickets costing £139 are available now via the festival’s official website. Fans also have the option to pay for this ticket over three instalments with a special payment plan.
RockNess was hit by tragedy in 2012 when 19-year-old teenager died at the festival after a suspected drugs overdose.
