Band will play the city's Wedgewood Rooms on August 8
The Maccabees have announced a one-off August show to help them warm up for their summer festival appearances.
The band, who have spent the last few months working on the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Wall Of Arms’ album, will play the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms on August 8. The show will act as a warm-up for their headline slot at Leicester‘s Summer Sundae Festival later in the month and their appearance at Bestival in September.
The Maccabees have not confirmed whether they will be premiering any new material at the gig, nor given any firm details about their new album as yet. They told NME in January that they “had six completed songs” for their third album.
Tickets for the Portsmouth show go on sale on Monday (May 16) at 9am (BST). To check the availability of The Maccabees tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
