On an episode of the Fox animated comedy aired in the US on Friday (November 16), Bob’s Burger’ Linda, the matriarch of the Belcher family, gets so excited by the holiday that she sings an impromptu song about Thanksgiving.
According to Vulture, who were handed the cover version of the track, the producers of the smash-hit comedy were so pleased with the song that they asked The National to record a re-worked version.
While Linda’s song is an upbeat number celebrating the annual US Thanksgiving dinner, despite lyrics such as “kill the turkey”, The National’s version is much more stoic and downbeat.
The National return to the UK this December to headline All Tomorrow’s Parties. The three-day festival will return to its original venue, Pontins in Camber Sands, after Butlins in Minehead ended its contract with the festival. The band will host the event on December 7-9.
