The National start work on new album

And the band contribute to AIDS charity record

The National have revealed that they are working on their next album – and hope to start recording in April in their home studio in Brooklyn.

The follow-up to 2007’s ‘Boxer’ will follow the AIDS charity album ‘Dark Was the Night’, which is due out in February, and features contributions from the band as well as Bon Iver, My Morning Jacket and Iron & Wine.

The national’s guitarist Aaron Dessner told that the band are “pretty far into the process of writing” for their next record.
