Unsigned R&B artist Ray BLK to appear on Later With Jools Holland

Host of other new names announced for the new series

Unsigned artist Ray BLK has joined the new series of Later With Jools Holland.

The London R&B artist has gained attention for songs such as her Stormzy collaboration ‘My Hood’. She will appear on the BBC2 show on the Later Live segment on October 11, followed by the full Later With Jools Holland show on October 14.

Also on the same episode are Empire Of The Sun – who are making their debut on the show two weeks before the duo’s third album ‘Two Vines’ is released on October 28 – and The Pretenders, who release new album ‘Alone’ on October 21. The Pretenders’ line-up will include The Black Keys singer Dan Auerbach, who produced the new album.


London singer Samm Henshaw also makes his debut, while former Free singer Paul Rodgers will be interviewed about his band Bad Company reforming.

This series has so far seen performances from Kings Of Leon, Jack White, Jamie T, Declan McKenna and Madness. Next week’s episodes on October 4 and 7 feature Twin Atlantic, Keane singer Tom Chaplin, James Vincent McMorrow, Blackberry Smoke and Incognito singer Tony Momrelle.

The current run of Later is the show’s 49th series. The 50th series will be shown in spring 2017, which also marks Later‘s 25th anniversary.
