Prodigy’s KEITH FLINT has formed a new band – and here’s an exclusive look at what’s in store.
NME.COM has unearthed the first, exclusive pictures of Keith in action with his band Flint during filming for his first ever video, which has been directed by controversial director Jonas Akerlund, who made Prodigy’s notorious ‘Smack My Bitch Up’, as well as working with the likes of U2, Smashing Pumpkins
The band has four confirmed members – Keith on vocals, Jim Davies, formerly of Pitchshifter, on guitar, Kieran Pepper and Tony Howlett (no relation to Prodigy’s Liam), both on drums. A bass player has yet to be confirmed.
An insider told NMECOM that Keith hasn’t left Prodigy, who are likely to release their own, long-awaited new album before the end of the year. Liam Howlett is currently in the studio, “finishing the album”, according to Prodigy’s spokesperson.
Another insider said: “Keith wrote the lyrics for the album during his Prodigy
downtime and the band started jamming them at his house in Essex. They went into the studio at the turn of the year and have made a fuck off album!”
Flint are planning a semi-secret UK debut show at an unusual London venue for the end of May. An album, as-yet-untitled was recorded at London’s Olympic Studios and produced by Youth and is due in July.
