Dance titans set to make live comeback
The Prodigy look set to announce a UK live date tomorrow (October 23).
Taking to their Facebook page, the band wrote: “UK fans make sure you sign-up to the mailing-list as we have a big live announcement coming for you on Tuesday.”
The date or dates are likely to coincide with the band’s reissue of their seminal album ‘The Fat Of The Land’ on December 3. The album, which sold over 10 million copies after its release in 1997, will be reissued in a package that will include a remix of ‘Smack My Bitch Up’ by Major Lazer, as well as other remixes from Noisia, Zeds Dead and Baauer.
The band are currently working on their sixth album, which has been given the working title ‘How To Steal A Jet Fighter’. Speaking to NME about the LP earlier this year, mainman Liam Howlett said he was going to avoid big-name collaborations.
Howlett, who has collaborated with the likes of Liam Gallagher, Dave Grohl and Juliette Lewis on previous albums, said: “I’m bored of the big collaborations. Maybe on a production level there’s a few people I’m working with people lower down the scale.”
The multi-instrumentalist also spoke about the making of ‘How To Steal A Jet Fighter’, adding that his bandmates Keith Flint and Maxim had been much more involved in its creation. “They’ve been in the studio with me,” he said. “Even if they’re not working on lyrics every day, definitely a few days a week they’re come in, have a listen, talk about it. I made the mistake in the past, not the last record but before, where I delivered finished tracks. I think it would have been better with some input along the way.”
