Keith Flint also says the Donington show will be their only festival slot of 2012
The band’s mainman Liam Howlett had previously hinted that he was working on the follow-up to the band’s 2009 studio album ‘Invaders Must Die’ and Flint has now confirmed that the band have been in the studio.
The trio will join Metallica and a reunited Black Sabbath in headlining the festival, which will take place from June 8-10 2012 at Donington Park. They will headline the event’s opening night (June 8) and have promised to include new songs in their set.
Speaking to Kerrang!, Flint also said that the show will be the band’s only appearance at a festival for the whole of 2012.
He said of The Prodigy‘s plans for their headline slot: “We are definitely going to bring the party and make sure it rocks. It’s the only festival appearance we are doing in 2012, so we’re going to make sure it’s really special. We’re also going to be dropping some of the new stuff that we have been doing in the studio. It’s going to be fucking ferocious.”
