The Prodigy to play ‘last show for a while’ at Bestival 2010

Band will close this year's Isle Of Wight event

The Prodigy will headline the final night of this year’s Bestival on the Isle Of Wight.

The band will close the event, which takes place between September 9 and 12.

The group join the likes of Roxy Music, LCD Soundsystem, The Flaming Lips and Dizzee Rascal at the festival, whose organisers are asking fans to attend in fancy dress inspired by the theme “the year of the fantasic”.

The Wailers and Wild Beasts have also joined the bill while the likes of Zane Lowe and La Roux have been confirmed for DJ sets.

“Since raving as a young pup to ‘Charly’ and ‘Out Of Space’ through to caning their new record on my radio show, The Prodigy have been a massive part of my record collection,” said organiser Rob Da Bank of this year’s closing act. “As far as polishing off the party on Sunday night, I can’t think of a more explosive finale… and it’s going to be the last we’ll see of them for quite a while on our shores – so get in the queue now!”
