Jack White's 'other' band play to huge Pyramid Stage crowd
The Raconteurs mainman Jack White returned to Glastonbury‘s Pyramid Stage for the third time this decade with his ‘other’ band tonight (June 28).
The set showcased songs from both of the four-piece’s albums, 2006’s debut ‘Broken Boy Soldiers’ and this year’s ‘Consolers Of The Lonely’.
White said little, apart from asking the crowd, “those in the sun OK? Those in the shade OK?” before their version of Terry Reid‘s ‘Rich Kid Blues’.
Later on he introduced his bandmates – co-frontman Brendan Benson and rhythm section Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler.
The highlight was an extended version of the band’s 2006 debut single ‘Steady, As She Goes’, with White encouraging the crowd to sing the closing ‘Are you steady now?’ refrain.
The Raconteurs played:
‘Consoler Of The Lonely’
‘You Don’t Understand Me’
‘Rich Kid Blues’
‘Steady, As She Goes’
‘Many Shades Of Black’
‘Broken Boy Soldier’
‘Salute Your Solution’
