The Rascals play two gigs in a night

Arctic Monkeys, Carl Barat, The View and more watch pub show

The Rascals returned to action with two gigs in a night last night (April 29).

The band have had a break while frontman Miles Kane has been working on The Last Shadow Puppets project with Alex Turner, but the trio came back by playing twice in London.

Firstly the band played at Islington Carling Academy as part of the MTV Brand Spanking New Tour they have played dates on recently, before dashing across town to east London pub The Old Blue Last for a later set.

There the band were watched by a host of their friends from other bands including Arctic Monkeys frontman Turner and bassist Mick O’Malley, Dirty Pretty ThingsCarl Barat and Anthony Rossomando, Lightspeed Champion, Kid Harpoon, plus member of The Zutons and Metros, along with a packed-out crowd of fans.

Kane, joined by bassist Joe Edwards and drummer Greg Mighall, stormed through a taut set at both venues, showcasing tracks from their forthcoming debut album ‘Rascalize’, which is released on June 9.

“I was really looking forward to the gigs,” Kane told NME.COM. “I’ve always wanted two gigs in a night, there’s something a bit Libertines about it, it’s very apt.”

The Rascals played:

‘The Ratcatcher’

‘Does Your Husband Know You Are On The Run’

‘Bond Girl’

‘Out Of Dreams’

‘Freakbeat Phantom’

‘People Watching’

‘Stockings To Suit’

‘I’ll Give You Sympathy’

‘Is It Too Late’
