OhhhHHH-oHHhHH: The Rasmus announce UK celebration tour of ‘Dead Letters’ album

We're taking it back to 2003...

The Rasmus will celebrate their album ‘Dead Letters’ with a string of UK tour dates in 2019, it’s been announced.

The Finnish rockers broke through with their fifth studio album back in 2004, with its lead single ‘In The Shadows’ landing at Number 3 in the UK’s Official Charts. The record originally dropped in 2003.

Having released four LPs since, including follow-up ‘Hide From The Sun’ in 2005, the Lauri Ylönen-fronted band are now taking “the most important album in the history of The Rasmus” on the road in October. Dates include a show at London’s O2 Forum in Kentish Town.

Tour 2019

THE RASMUS PLAYS DEAD LETTERS ON TOURThe album Dead Letters was a milestone for The Rasmus. They had already released four albums in Finland before the age of 21, and had reached platinum album sales and played sold out arenas in their home country. But their fifth full-length outing, Dead Letters, including the world wide smash hit In The Shadows, propelled The Rasmus to fame and stardom all over the world. Now, a little more than 15 years after the album was released, The Rasmus will play it from start to finish in a series of concerts in Europe, late September through early November 2019. The singer, Lauri Ylönen, explains: “Dead Letters is the most important album in the history of The Rasmus. At the time of the release in 2003 we had already existed almost ten years and were on the threshold of adulthood as a band. With self-confidence and curiosity, the fear of the future defined our new style and identity for good. We want to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this album by diving back into that dark world and playing it live from start to finish." Lauri continues: "We are super excited about this. The album is very theatrical and has strong imagery. We want to bring that visual world to the live performances. Some of the songs will have their first live premier in the Fall of 2019!"
