Lock of Mick Jagger’s hair to be sold at auction

Younger sister of the frontman's ex girlfriend Jean Shrimpton puts unique item up for sale

A lock of Mick Jagger‘s hair is to be auctioned at Bonhams in London.

The clutch of The Rolling Stones‘ frontman’s hair is being sold by Chrissie Shrimpton, the younger sister of Jean Shrimpton – Jagger’s model ex-girlfriend. According to Bonhams’ website, the lock of hair was “saved by her grandmother when Mick and Chrissie were staying at her parents’ farm. Apparently, on her grandmother’s death, the hair passed to Chrissie’s aunt and when she died, the hair was returned to Chrissie by a cousin taking care of personal effects.”

Bonhams expects the hair to fetch between £1,500-£2,000 with all proceeds going to the Changing Faces charity. The hair will come with a slip of paper with “Mick Jagger’s hair after being washed + trimmed by Chris at Rose Hill Farm” written on it.

Mick Jagger’s next public appearance in the UK will come when he and The Rolling Stones headline Glastonbury at the end of June. It was revealed today (June 17) that the band will perform for over two hours when they headline the Saturday night of the festival.

After headlining this year’s Glastonbury on Saturday June 29, the Stones will then play a further two dates in the UK at London’s Hyde Park on July 6 and 13. They recently denied that they had struck an agreement with Adele to join them onstage for the shows, although they have been joined by a raft of other artists during recent gigs including Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Arcade Fire’s Win Butler – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to see Butler performing ‘The Last Time’ with the band during their recent show in Montreal.
